Ramen Yoshidaya

Introducing the long-established ramen restaurant "Yoshidaya", located in Ito City.

This shop had a previous owner, and I don't know how he became the current owner, but I think of him as the second owner. lol

A long time ago… when the Iekei genre didn't exist in the countryside of Izu, I heard that there was a delicious ramen shop in Ito, and I remember going there. I was quite "shocked" and since then, I often stopped by there when I had work in Ito.

I wonder if it's because the Iekei ramen family tree has "Yoshida-ya" in the Rokkaku-ya lineage?

And there was often a staff member washing kitchen utensils in front of the shop, and I remember a customer scolding him when he parked his car diagonally in the parking lot in front of it, saying "Hey! Your car is crooked!" lol

I think the menu was probably changed after the current owner took over, but I think in the past there were only "regular, medium, and large" servings. Of course, there were no gyoza or anything like that, and I remember there was no unnecessary chatter in the shop, and everyone was quietly enjoying their meal.

Eating ramen at this traditional ramen shop can be hard on the body, so as I got older I stopped going there, but as my sons got older and my second son started working, I started stopping by again more often.

My second son says that the "Abura Soba" here is the ultimate deliciousness! But I always order the "medium size + extra nori seaweed." I'm also interested in miso, but I'm not going to be adventurous! Sometimes I order "regular size + nori seaweed + rice."

Speaking of Iekei ramen, Sakai Seimen is the name to go by, and at the time, the wooden boxes were piled up, but I wonder if they're still in business? I'm not sure, but I feel like things haven't changed.

The noodles are straight and thick. The rich pork bone soup is like a layer of oil, and it's topped with refreshing cabbage and spinach. I wonder if this is a Iekei ramen staple? To be honest, the char siu hasn't changed much since the old days, but I don't really like it.

If you don't get along with the people around you, don't forget to add plenty of garlic and spicy miso! lol

If it was the old owner, I would have been scolded for taking photos, but I guess times have changed and the taste has changed, so I hope he stays in business for a long time! Haha
