It's here! Big seafood hit!
I wanted to explore the area around Ito Station, so I did some research and came up with a few candidates. Well, reviews on a random number of websites are only useful as a reference, but this place has over 200 reviews and a score of 4.3 on Google Maps. But I wasn't sure if it would suit the taste of an "old man" over 50 years old, so I headed there thinking that it would be ok if it was not as good as usual.

You can walk there from Ito Station, but there is a parking lot next to the store that can accommodate four cars, including some with license plates from other prefectures. I parked in the parking lot and headed to the store, and the storefront looked good and the noren curtain was "pin-pin" so I thought, "Oh! This might be good," and when I entered the store, there were a few customers.

My wife and I were shown to a table, which had a bright image, and the porcelain condiment containers gave the impression that they were particular about their food. Water was served first, but it was also in a small transparent cup.
They said they had a "lunch set meal," so as usual, we ordered a standard menu at the first restaurant, so I ordered the "lunch set meal" and my wife ordered the "sashimi set meal." It was past 13:00, and I was hungry, so I waited excitedly while a small bowl was brought, but I didn't touch it because I wanted to take a photo, and the food was brought without much wait.
The food was simply beautiful.
The sashimi had sharp edges, and I thought the freshness of the ingredients, the way the knife was used, the cooking speed, and the presentation were all excellent. My wife's "sashimi set meal," which had 10 pieces of sashimi, was also very beautiful.

And, as is often the case with delicious restaurants, there isn't much rice! I asked if I could have more rice for free, but of course I had to pay! lol
I ordered the "lunch set" which came with "seared horse mackerel" and "fried whiting".

I took a photo and tried it right away, and it was just as delicious as I imagined! I really liked it!
Of course, the miso soup was flavored with dashi, and the wakame was raw, so the texture of the stems and leaves was well-balanced.
The small bowl of flakes was not sure if they were tuna or sea bream, but my wife said they thought they were sea bream, but they had a very elegant seasoning and texture. When I asked if there were any souvenirs, they said they had plum jellyfish, but they make the flakes every morning for lunch. That's why they're so fresh, so they must be delicious.
Unusually, there was also raw "seaweed" on a small plate. I had heard that daidai is delicious with sashimi or soy sauce, but this is delicious either way.
Finally, I had some coffee and a little chat with the owner before leaving the shop.
Kaifukumaru's prices are well balanced, and it seems to be a restaurant that competes purely on its cooking, without any tricks in the way it's presented or seasoned. Please do drop by.
There are two or three other restaurants in front of Ito Station that I'm interested in, so I'll try to go there next time.
