Atami Ichizushi

This time, we will introduce "Atami Ichizushi" located in Atami city, Shizuoka prefecture.

The restaurant is located next to Atami city hall, and we parked in the car park next to the city hall.

The shop is a little off Atami's bustling Ginza Street, but within walking distance.

They sell fruit in front of the shop, which is apparently organic.

Inside Ichizushi

The inside of the restaurant looks like this.

There are 11 seats at the counter and two four-seater tables.

This time I ordered the “Special Nigiri: ¥4,400.”

Ichi Sushi Special Nigiri

The ingredients included everything from the popular shrimp, cockle, tuna, and sea bream to sea urchin.

Chef's choice nigiri: I wonder what's going to happen with ¥4,950…lol

This is what it looks like from above.

When I asked the waiter how to eat it, he recommended eating it with the salt provided on the table.

Ichizushi's Special Salt

I was told that it would taste good if you sprinkled this salt on the sushi and squeezed the citrus juice from the side on top, so I decided to give it a try…

It was my first time eating sushi with salt, so I was a bit hesitant at first.

One Sushi - Sea Bream

When I tried it, the salt was very sweet and not too strong, which brought out the natural flavor of the ingredients.

They told me where it was made, but it's something I recommend you ask the staff when you visit the shop.

Eating sushi with the salt, which they are very particular about, completely changed my idea of sushi.

Of course, they also use special soy sauce, which is mellow and delicious.

One Sushi Soy Sauce

It was my first time eating sushi with salt and soy sauce, and it was the most delicious sushi I have ever eaten.

They seem to be particular about the ingredients, but above all, the salt and soy sauce are really delicious.

Definitely a must-try.
